And so, I changed my name...

From Haruhifan to Yuki N. Why? I felt like a change. Yuki N. is also my fanfiction.net name. So yeah. Deal with it.

Youtube Videos That I Enjoy

When I'm not posting on here, I'm usually on youtube, watching random things...here's what I've been watching...
http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=andromeda881
This is a user that has uploaded all three versions of the Beach Rock Musical, included a few subtitled songs. The third version took out Urahara (;_;) ,Chad, and Orihime ( :D). It also added Rangiku, Kenpachi, Hanatarou, and...some other guys whose names I can't remember.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC2SJj2_7i8
This is a video in which the Bleach musical pple (Aizen, Byakuya, Hitsugaya, Ichigo and Kira, who joins in later) get dance lessons from Gin. It's hilarious XD. Aizen pushed Byakuya (poor guy).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-FW25hUlDo
This is a Naruto AMV which has clips of songs the Naruto seiyuus have made, to see if they can sing or not. Oddly, I really liked Tenten's (O_o) even though it sounds a bit chipmunky...Ino and Neji's were really good. Naruto's was just weird...

This user just makes great videos in general. The "Public Service Announcement from Bleach" was excellent. They were like, "Don't smoke, otherwise you'll get a hole in your neck and you'll look like Ulquiorra. Wouldn't that be depressing?" XD. He also puts on speeded up versions of anime music, like the Ouran Opening and the Death Note Opening (which was oddly amusing).

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Untill later~!

Bleach Rock Musical (first impressions)

I read on Wikipedia some time ago that there was a Bleach musical, but I didn't bother looking it up on youtube untill earlier today. I haven't watched the whole performance yet (my computer doesn't load the videos properly), so as of now the following is all I have to say: YAY x infinity~ ^_______^

Seriously folks, it is that good. Okay, it's completely in Japanese, absolutely no subtitles, but still! The actors are quite good at what they do (I'm still not exactly sure if Gin is using proper Kansai-ben...but not being a native Japanese speaker, what do I know? Also, his voice isn't low enough, when you compare it to the original anime seiyuu. But I don't mind much). And....Urahara-san's voice was really good!! (at least, the little I heard of it) so I'm happy ^_^ They are also all excellent singers, and their voices blend really well ^__^ Orihime was the only one I didn't like as much as the others. Also, no mention of Uryuu as of yet... :(

And the costumes? They are VERY well done, Hitsugaya and Renji's hair look really good (and realistic). LOL. The Shinigami uniforms also look really good. There was a Kon plushie at one point, it was sooo cute! ^__^

Well, when I FINALLY finish watching this, I'll post a real review. I just wanted to get the word out. Untill later,
Ja, ne~

3 Reasons Why I Love The Bleach Dub

Otaku on various message boards and such often say that the dub of an anime is always worse than the sub. While this may be true, the Bleach dub is one of the best of all dubs, up there with the Azumanga Diaoh, Eureka 7, Witch Hunter Robin, InuYasha, and Fruits Basket. Here are the reasons why I love the Bleach dub and why otaku have NO RIGHT to badmouth it as much as they do.

Reason #1: They pronounce everyone's names right.
In the English dubs of anime, the voice actors have a TINY (^_^) tendency to pronounce the character's names wrong.
Ex. In the Full Moon wo Sagashite dub, they pronounce Mitsuki's name wrong, putting to much emphasis on the "u" in "tsu". They also pronouce Wakaoji-sensei's name wrong...*cry of anguish* Mitsuki's grandma pronounces it "Waka-oji" (seperating the hyphened parts so it sounds unnatural). It's things like this that make dubs bad.

But the Bleach dub does NOT do this! happy happy joy~ apart from Rukia's name, they pronounce the 'r's correctly!! They also pronounce all the vowels correctly, and don't stretch them out too much. Am I being a stickler? Oh well...I'm just very happy about this~ ^_^

Reason #2: The English voices themselves are excellent.
What can I say? The dub is very well done, the voices aren't particually over the top (except for maybe Uryuu), all the emotions are portrayed well. This might change as the Soul Society Arc progresses, but I can't imagine the dub being of lower quality at this time.My only gripe: Urahara-san's voice is much, much better in the sub. His Japanese goes up and down at random times...while that may sound odd, it captures Urahara-san's unique spirit. The English version of Urahara just doesn't do that.

Reason #3: They kept the original Japanese openings and endings, in original content and length.

One of my biggest anime pet peeves apart from wrongly pronounced names: when anime licensors take out perfectly good anime music and replace it with their own crap. Of course, lots of anime keep the original openings and endings but sometimes (like with Full Metal Alchemist) they shorten the endings and/or do not show some openings at all. And some (like with Naruto) create their own original song and THEN use one of the original openings but redo the opening animation (>.>). The people that made the Bleach dub (the genius that they are that respect the fan's wished) do not do this (yay).

Despite all these reasons why the English version of Bleach is so great, the Japanese version is still better. I'm just trying to say not to badmouth the dub just because they call the shinigami 'soul reapers' instead. Even though I do disagree with the translation a tad, it's still perfectly valid!

That concludes my post. I'm writing this at 9:30 at night, so...oyasumi nasai, minna-san~ ^_^

Good J-POP/J-ROCK groups that I like/recently got into

I'm bored. So I decided to post this. ^^
High and Mighty Colour
Comments: This is one of the groups that I listen to the most now! ^^ They did "Pride" from Gundam SEED Destiny and "Ichirin no Hana" from Bleach. They are really good!! I really love this one song by them, called "Style ~Get glory in his hand~". It's really good! It's like this one time when I was hooked on "Sakura DROPPUSU" and "dareka no negai ga kanau koro" by Hikaru Utada. They all got stuck in my head.

ZWEI
I really like this group!! I first listend to one of their songs "Hikari" on Karaoke Machi, a Karaoke site which I think is still down...:( anyway, I started listening to more of their songs and I started listening a lot to them. "Pretty Queen", "Movie Star" and most of their other ones are all excellent. I don't end up skipping any of their songs (I do this sometimes with L'arc ~en~ Ciel). Please give this group a listen!!

Hikaru Utada
The first time I ever listened to J-POP, I listened to Hikki. Now I'm hooked. So Hikki has got to be really good, to get a Westerner with very few Japanese relatives hooked on Japanese music, right? Well, if you thought she was really good, you would be right! I like almost all of her songs ("First Love", one of her singles, I never really liked that much.) But, some of her newer songs are really good. "Travelling" one of her older songs is really good! I also liked "Passion/Sanctuary", as do lots of Kingdom Hearts fans. One of her albums, "Exodus" wasn't that good though...

Ayumi Hamasaki
I first listened to her when I listened to "Dearest" from InuYasha. I like some of her songs, but not all. Some of her remixes are not that good. But "Blue Bird" one of her newer singles did really good on the Oricon!! I have that tune stuck in my head.

Yui
I first heard her singing when she sang "Life" for Bleach. I didn't appreciate it at the time, untill I heard "Rolling Star", the newest Opening for Bleach. Now I'm a fan of her. I first thought she was Yui Horie (Person who played Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket) but now I realized they're different people...-_-;;

And that's all I have to say for now~bai bai and oyasumi nasai~

Manga Quest Review

Manga Quest: Join The Adventure and Learn How to Draw It by Ben Gibson and Serge Marcos
I decided to write this review because I have been noticing that there are tons of "How To Draw Manga"s around in libraries and bookstores. One day, when I was at the library, I saw this one book that stuck out to me, for 3 main reasons:
1. The art was totally crappy. I know people at my high scool that draw way better than these guys.
2. One the back, it says that the authors are "award-winning illustrators". I don't know about you, but I definetely would NOT have given these guys any sort of awards in the first place.
3. The length. It's short. There are maybe 30-40 pages devoted to teaching you how to draw (out of almost 77 pages)
Now, lets get this over with...
Concept: This comic book uses a comic format to get to the different components of drawing manga. It's a pretty interesting format. I think it's been done before, but in the books that I've seen, it's only been used quite sparsely. It makes for a good change of pace, despite the fact the comic is totally unoriginal. Now, this book would be an excellent if it weren't for....

Art Quality
: Although I've said this before, I feel the need to to say it again: the art in this book is some of the crappiest I've ever seen. The outlining is really wonky, the color sucks, the teeth are drawn all odd (I realizing I might be nitpicking a bit, but still, the art is THAT bad). Also, the characters they go over are common, common stock. Afew examples are: Elder wizard, woman seer, child prodigy (one of the worst), the schoolgirl (man, oh man, they even messed the schoolgirl up!), the pretty boy, and one of my favourites (total sarcasm here), a demon. It bears an uncanny resemblance to Ryuuk from Death Note. Although the drawings of animals are bettter than most of the art in this book, still. DO NOT MODEL YOUR MANGA STYLE AFTER THE STYLE OF THESE BAKAS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even the mascot (a weird flying monkey thing), manages to be un-cute.

Rating: 3.5/10 It has some (extremely sparse) good points, but for the most part, this is definitely not a good "How To Draw Manga" book. Avoid this book like poison, PLEASE!!!!!!!

Nothing is happening so far...

Life is normal and boring. School starts up tomorrow :(. Just finished watching Bleach Episode 17 on youtube, I won't be able to watch any further untill Friday...:( man, really busy schedule.
Before, I used to think, "Math sucks, Science sucks, Home Ec sucks..." but now things are looking up! ^^ Math is tons easier, doing percentage now *yawn* Science is not so bad anymore, and I'm starting Food Studies in Home Ec!!!! Finally!! Before in Home Ec, I was sewing, and I wasn't doing that good, had to stay after school to finish my project.
As for anime and manga related stuff, I finally bought Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle Vol. 1!!!! Yayness~I also have xxxHOLiC vol. 1 & 2 so it's fun to look at both (because they tell the same thing from two points of view.) I finished some fanart of Yuki, Tohru, and Kyo from Fruits Basket (don't think it's that good) but I'm too lazy to do anymore!! Hah...my laziness annoys me...
Well, till next time~
Ja, ne~
